memories concerning art
( text tuned by Eleanor of

I was born in 1973 at the outskirts of Germany's notorious industrial urban region - the Ruhrgebiet. Being a dreamy yet crazed and not un-cheeky boy, my parents became accustomed to supplying me with paper and ink quite early on, in order to keep me still in waiting-situations. And so i began drawing the heroes of my dream world - and Alas! Those were monsters.

However, having growing up with figures such as Fix&Foxi and the incredible Hulk, i naturally entertained the wish to create comics. This way, i was obliged to begin drawing my less extravagant fellow earthlings as well. Soon enough, the school-magazine enabled me to publish, on a monthly basis, the adventures of my chemistry teacher who practices cosmic heroism in another possible world.

This series won me the attention of the local Westfalian newspaper WAZ, to which i contributed 3-pic-cartoons starring a teenage lion-couple.

Like creating comics, drawing women, had been a wish i had nurtured for a very long while before i managed to fulfil it, towards the end of my adolescence. Thus women joined monsters as the centre of my fantasy stories. Refusing to allow any soul to come between my pictures and myself, i decided to study not art but philosophy, and chose of all places, the cathedral town of Münster for my academic dwelling. Not able to live on alma matters alone, i continued drawing for comic-magazines, CD covers, and other projects.

After finishing my studies i fulfilled yet another artistic wish - presenting my paintings in an exhibition, which i made together with Bettina Siek. We named our mutual collection women monsters, it being a theme that has surprisingly haunted me and the lady artist with the same intensity.

Somewhat later two galleries in the web liked to exhibit one the fetish- and the other the fantasy-side of my drawing.

When i draw fetish clothes, i rather wish to communicate fashion and metamorphosis than erotica - and when i draw fantasy women, i try to present real characters with their own humor, weakness and fears, but they incline to pose voguishly. So after accepting, that my fantasy heroines want to be fashion models, i put more emphasis on that genre. That allowed me to supply material for a fashion-magazine, when it wanted to collaborate with me.

This way, the three heads of my creation-hydra work together, or sometimes challenge each other to a friendly duel.
Since the summer of 04, the dark forces of employment inhibit me from proceeding art, but sometimes i can resist - check the NEW-Button!
